PARENTS COMPLAINS AND HOW TO HANDLE THEM

ATTENTION  TO SCHOOL HEAD'S/ PROPRIATORS/RESS

PARENTS COMPLAINS AND HOW TO HANDLE THEM
Most parent/ guardians have been calling us to inform  us that some school heads and their school owners are not carrying them along for the National Mathematics Competition. They complained that some school heads/owners have never informed them about the National Mathematics Competition and that their choices of students representatives are based on sentiments and favouritism. They pleaded that we should register them individually without your consent.
We have sent them back to you and have given them reason which is the fact that it is against our policy for candidates registration for the Competition.

FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES TO INVOLVE YOUR PARENT/ STUDENTS
1. Announce the National Mathematics Competition in their General assembly continually until it becomes a slogan.
2. Though you may want to select the best Mathematics students for the Competition, if any parent or student indicates interest allow them to participate because the exposure matters a lot.
3. Do not forget that the reasons for allowing your students to participate for the Competition is not just to win but it will make them situp after the competition.
4. Write and give out letters to parents/guardian requesting their students to register for the Competition, state the reasons why you think their wards should participate, send the letters to the parent/ guardians personally through their ward or any other means. Make a copy of the letter and paste on your school notice board. You can also text the parents and remind them regularly.
5. Inform your Parents that their Children stand better chances to win the Competition having completed the academic curriculum with them, if possible show them the areas of concentration  given to you. You'll do more of this convincision on the students. Don't force any student who is not ready for the Competition but you can convince them not by coersion.
6. Always be polite with your Parents knowing they're your customers. Though some Parents are found not always telling the truth. Avoid calling them liars, use polite words such as: "sir/ma, you're right but I will investigate what you said a little further to find out the whole truth", you're right but your daughter's/son's report is not totally correct etc,. Pamper your Parents and treasure your students because they're your raw Material for Business.
7. If they ask you questions you don't understand, tell them, " I'll get back to you". Then come to us and ask the exact question for clarity and get back to them later. Don't assume to have known what you don't know, it belittles you.
8. Organise a Mathematics lesson with the students and assign a Mathematics Teacher to them who will guard them through out the period of the competition. It maybe the current Mathematics teacher or a senior Mathematics teacher in the school who is more grounded to assist the maths teacher.
